Pickerings Wisp

Updated: 8.9.03

Pickering's Triangular Wisp is part of the extensive Veil Nebula and is located somewhat in-between the other arcs. In this particular image, a more selective filter narrow band filter would have better highlighted the nebula relative to the stars. Here, the wisps seem to be lost in the myriad of stars! Part of NGC6960 is to the right. This image was taken with the 80 mm AT1010 Stellarvue refractor and an IDAS filter. Some of the more offensive blue halos were removed in Corel Photo.
