The famous Trifid Nebula is
a large and beautiful complex in the constellation of Sagittarius. Portions
of it are reflective (left side) and emission (right side) with a nice
transition region in between. The name arises from the prominent dark
lanes on the emission side. The original raws from this M20 shot represented
my first attempt at color processing in Maxim. The image shown is a reprocessed
version.
